Make a difference in a way that fits your life

At Involve, we believe everyone has something to offer, whether you can volunteer a few hours a week or just a few minutes a month. Our volunteering opportunities are a great way to meet new people, connect to your community, develop your skills and feel a sense of achievement.

How will you get involved?

1. Ongoing volunteering roles: Regular roles with an ongoing commitment that fit around you – like becoming a Volunteer Community Driver

2. Ad-hoc volunteering: Short, one-off volunteering activities. Perfect if you want to make a difference but only have limited free time.

Ad-hoc Volunteering Opportunities

Ad-hoc volunteering is ideal if you don’t want to commit to a long-term volunteering role but still want to make a difference.

Examples of ad-hoc volunteering at Involve:

This role involves helping us spread the word about our services by delivering leaflets to local community locations such as libraries, cafes, community centres, GP surgeries and local shops. This role would be great for someone who wants to play an important part in helping local residents discover the support available to them.

You will organise local events to help raise money for Involve, such as bake sales, raffles, or quiz nights. You might also support public collections or promote campaigns online. These core tasks blend communication, creativity, and community engagement, allowing volunteers to play a direct role in generating support while strengthening the charity’s presence in the local area.

I love being a volunteer! I was initially a client going to the games group at The Hub, and this is how I found out about volunteering. I became a Telephone Befriender and it was the best thing I’ve ever done, especially during lockdown. It was as good for my wellbeing as it was for them and I still really enjoy doing it now. I’ve made lots of new friends because of this opportunity.

Margaret – Telephone Befriender

“I just love what I do! I joined Involve as a volunteer 15 years ago when I retired and I honestly don’t know what else I would do with my time. I’m always willing to do anything because it gives me the boost I need, I think I get more out of it than the clients! I go home with a great feeling of satisfaction and feeling like I’ve done something worthwhile.”
