What we do
Social Enterprise Kent (SEK) is dedicated to creating positive change with its mission “Every day, we shape a better tomorrow.” As a social enterprise, SEK is committed to delivering lasting social impact, empowering individuals, strengthening communities and improving lives. We ensure those we support are left stronger and more resilient.
Work is delivered through three core areas:
- Training and Skills: Tailored business coaching and practical training, including first aid, moving and handling, and safeguarding. These affordable yet high-quality courses ensure that Voluntary, Charity, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations can access the same resources and opportunities as larger organisations.
- Wellbeing and Health: SEK leads innovative projects designed to promote systemic change. This includes improving cancer screening rates, increasing access to mental health services, reducing loneliness and isolation, and addressing health and financial inequalities. SEK also plays a vital role in embedding VCSE organisations within evolving health structures.
- Person-Centred Support: SEK is working 1:1 with people through employability projects, social prescribing, advice on benefits, energy and fuel poverty and helping improve health and wellbeing.
Operating across Kent with offices in Margate, Ramsgate, and Ashford, SEK’s compassionate and well-trained staff are dedicated to delivering impactful projects for key partners like the NHS, DWP, Macmillan, and local councils.
