What we do

Hands of Hope are a small, community charity operating in West Kent. Currently restoring & developing a neglected walled kitchen garden and 18 acres of AONB in Hawkhurst, West Kent, we deliver programmes & activities aimed at tackling rural isolation, food poverty as well as improving the physical and mental wellbeing of communities’ by connecting them with nature and each other – “growing together, building communities.” Additionally, we offer opportunities to increase the skills base amongst volunteers, service users, schools & community groups by providing access to and knowledge of, ‘in season’ organic horticulture and food growing, community rural craft skills and environmental issues. Our aim is to encourage a more informed, better connected, and healthier community, both now and into the future.
