What we do
Young Roots is designed for young adults seeking work experience in a supportive environment. It is aimed at young adults currently 17 to 30 years of age who would have difficulty attending work experience due to neurodiversity, communication skills, anxiety or mental health issues. The program focuses on developing skills in horticulture and construction, with an emphasis on work skills, practical experience, personal development, and British values, while embedding English and maths in a subtle, integrated way. This is a small group within a supported environment.
Many participants from Young Roots have gone on to further education or continued their involvement through volunteering either.
