What we do
Our free workshops help parents and carers gain the knowledge and skills they need to support their children after child sexual abuse.
We provide a programme of training workshops to help you to navigate this difficult time, providing useful information to support you and your family to manage, move forwards, and hopefully go on to thrive.
Support for you
We know that the period after a disclosure of child sexual abuse can be a difficult time for parents and carers. It can be hard to know what to do or how to respond. Our training workshops can help you to support your child and regain confidence in yourself and your parenting.
Through a mixture of 1:1 support, group work and self-learning our programme of training workshops covers the following topics, and more:
- What is abuse?
- Understanding the impact of trauma on the brain
- Having difficult conversations
- Therapeutic parenting
- Self care
- Staying safe online
You can find more information about our workshops and how they work in our FAQs document on our website (https://westand.org.uk/training-for-parents)
