What we do

Time to Talk is virtual a peer-to-peer support group for those who have lost a close relative, partner, friend, or colleague to suicide, providing the opportunity to meet others who have lost someone to suicide and share experiences and feelings in a safe space. The group is run by a trained facilitator with lived experience. It is important to know that Time to Talk is not a therapy or group counselling support service and is a provision to connect those with lived experience to support each other. Our experience shows that people get more out of sessions if they do not know other group members. This means it is not possible to join with a family member or friend. Each group will include people with different experiences, backgrounds and relationships to the person who has died. This virtual programme is designed to support adults over the age of 18 who are committed to attend at least four of the six sessions, although attending the course in its entirety would be most beneficial. They must ensure they are available to attend the first session. The group will meet online via Zoom for six weeks from Wednesday 27th October 2021 – Wednesday 1st December 2021, 6pm-7.30pm and we are now open to taking self referrals via our website www.westkentmind.org.uk
