Social Farming and Gardening
Address
Athena Herd Foundation CIC, High Lees Farm House, Wagon Lane, Paddock Wood, TN12 6PT
What we do
Athena has access to over 35 acres of land on which it grows its hay, cares for various animals, including a herd 14 horses, and maintains private orchard.
Social farming provides a person-centred approach, focusing on the whole person abilities rather than limitations, which promote positive engagement and the development of practical skills. It also builds social inclusion, expanding social contacts and promoting greater involvement in community life for those who may otherwise be socially isolated.
We work with other organisations to provide solutions that are appropriate for their learners and service users.
Price
Prices are framed around solutions adapted for organisational requirements, as well as the opportunity of accessing funding.
