What we do
Caring for someone living with dementia can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting, emotional and, at times, incredibly isolating. Many carers tell us that friends and family simply don’t understand the challenges they face day to day.
Our Carers Peer Support Groups provide a welcoming space where you can connect with others who truly understand. Whether you are looking for advice, reassurance, friendship or simply a chance to talk openly, these groups offer support from people who are walking a similar path.
You are welcome to attend on your own or with the person you care for. Volunteers are available to spend time with your loved one, giving you the opportunity to relax, chat and focus on your own wellbeing.
Each group is shaped by the people who attend. Some members enjoy social activities, guest speakers and outings, while others value the opportunity to share experiences, exchange practical tips and gain emotional support. Our team regularly attends to provide information, guidance and signposting to other services that may help.
Everyone’s dementia journey is different, but no one should have to face it alone. By joining a support group, you can build meaningful connections, gain valuable insight and find comfort in knowing that others understand what you’re going through.
Carer Peer Support Groups take place in:
- Rochester
- Swanley
- Gravesend
We know attending a new group for the first time can feel daunting. That’s why we’ll ensure you receive a warm welcome, with support to help you feel comfortable and introduced to other members.
Our Carers Peer Support Groups are free to attend, although donations are always appreciated to help us continue providing this valuable service.
