What we do

This Community café welcomes all comers each Tuesday morning at 9.30am, although food and drinks are served from 10-12am. The café was set up to provide an opportunity for people to meet others, especially those living alone, recently bereaved, struggling with depression or just looking for company. It is also a place where people can share concerns confidentially and informally if wished. There is a popular table Quiz each week and several copies are available on each table. There is also a free book exchange, and a list of Traders personally recommended by people who come to the Cafe that many find very helpful. Taking part in this is entirely optional, but it has proved to be a good starting point for talking to others. There is wheelchair access, and hand gel is available at the café entrance for those who wish to use it. There is no charge, although it is possible to make a donation if wished. Please note that although this Café takes place inside a church (which ultimately pays for it) it is a Community provision. The Cafe is registered with Maidstone Environmental Health (5 star rating) and as a place that can be used for Social Prescribing. All Safeguarding recommendations are adhered to.
